Google Image Search started Swipe Up Site visit

Google began testing an image search feature that allows you to scroll an article from a search result up or up for more information. They started testing it in March 2019 and then announced it to Google I / O in May. Now Google has launched this feature.

Here is a GIF of it in Google's action:

& # 39; Swipe to visit & # 39; as Google calls it, & # 39; uses AMP & # 39; s more preferred option to show a preview of the page displayed at the bottom of the screen. When a user swipes over the preview, the web page is immediately displayed and the publisher receives a page view. The speed and ease of this experience makes it more likely for users to visit a publisher's site while still allowing users to continue their browsing session, "said Google.

Publishers that support AMP do not need to take extra action to have their sites appear on Google Images in Swipe to Visit. For those who don't, you can learn more here.
